W. Ketland lock
« on: November 22, 2015, 01:10:27 AM »
I can't find my info on Ketland locks. Does anyone have a good resource to document the period of "W. Ketland" locks?
Thanks

i've never heard of a W. Ketland lock maker. I have seen T. Ketland marked locks, Ketland and Co. marked locks but, none with a "W".

Thank you, Aviric. I knew I "had" the information somewhere. Joe gave it to us years ago.

Does anyone know when Joe's research on the Ketlands will be published?

The Man at Arms article was published some time ago. Research for the book is largely done though there are a few things I would like to confirm from primary sources. The necessity to make a living has regularly intervened but, in the long run, the result will be better. I'm about 1/3 of the way through the last editing job on my schedule before the K book and have given fair warning to my authors that it is my turn now. So... we may have a book in a year or so... but I've said that before.

Thanks for the update. Look forward in getting a copy of the finished product.
For those that are interested, Joe's article "Ketland Guns in America" is in the December 2011(Vol.33 No.6)  issue of "Man at Arms" magazine.
