Your take on barrel finish

I've been admiring the Chuck Edwards 'barn gun' on page 94-95 of the latest issue of MUZZLELOADER, and particularly like the way the barrel is finished.

Any opinions on how it was accomplished?

Times have sure changed. Gun control used to mean keeping the muzzle pointed in a safe direction
