I am not qualified to make a "collectors" opinion or comment. But from my own tastes, this has all kinds of appeal. I love the plainer, less heavily decorated guns; they allow the architecture to speak more clearly. The patchbox is pure elegance. The toe plate is a joy. The cheekpiece is so restrained. And the butt profile, almost bold, but not overstated. This is a rifle for a thoughtful connoisseur who will love it more as he spends more time with it.

Great lines and a very attractive plain rifle but that lock… ick!  Just a bad reconversion or possibly entire replacement?  It's like a great old well-preserved car with one fender left painted in primer.  Please help that lock!  JMHO.

I like this rifle .It  has the kind of lines that I am drawn to. I don't believe it's made by N. Hawk though. The engraving does not appear to be of his quality . Just my feeling.  I'm with  Eric lock is all wrong.   JIM
