Sights on a fowler
« on: December 28, 2015, 06:22:20 AM »
I just completed a Fowler for Turkey season. It has a colerain Turkey barrel, and I hope it is a Turkey killing machine. What sight would you put on a Turkey gun a peep sight or just a rear sight.

I have often put rifle sights on dedicated turkey guns.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

When you are hunting turkey you are aiming ath the head or neck of the bird. When I build a dedicated turkey gun I install a wide v notch sight ten plus inches down the barrel from the breech. BJH
