Just received Roger's entry at noon today - 1/2 hour ago = postmarked 13 June.  Guess that's why they call it Snail-Mail.  That's 4 entries but the prizes will be smal without more entries.  The cash sent in is sent back to the first 3 plus the closest to the centre, same as last year.  Com-on guys - send in the entries.

Daryl,
No doubt your poor turnout is due to the fact that most people do not shoot chunks, they blow them.  Well, with the exception of the heavy beer drinkers who often shoot them thru their nose.

Daryl,
The end of August works for me. The Doc scheduled me for cataract surgery the 28th of July and the 3rd of August just today. With a little luck I'll be able to get a few shots in before the end of the month.

If ya don't mind go ahead and send the targets out.  I never know for sure when I can get a weekend to shoot and would hate to miss a chance.

Yes - I can send out the match targets this week to cover just such a situation. They are the same as last year, merely a download from targetz.com to make practise easy.

TOF - chunk guns are not allowed as per the rules - hunting/trail rifles only.  Last year we had a good turnout. 16 entries.

Daryl,
I just got my targets in the mail today. Thanks for putting this on for us few determined "chunk wanna bee's". Actually that sounds like one of those critters that hops around with stuff in a front pouch.  ;D I am going to get to practicing this week end. Good luck to you guy's.

CR - it's a bit late now.  Go back to the start of this thread - should be some answers there.  Hopefully, there will be more interest next year.  If you want to mail me some $ - I'll send your targets out this week. You can download the scoring target, along with a spotter you can see well, and practise if you want in the meantime.

Daryl, my targets are on the way.  Not a stellar performance again but fun to try.  I did not get much practice in due to work -- I need to retire as this work stuff really messes up the fun part of life.......

Daryl,
My targets will be in the mail Monday. Got out today and shot the first shots for record since last year's ALR chunk shoot. Had back surgery in February and cataract surgery , on both eyes, 3 weeks ago. Don't have my new glasses yet but gave it a try. Not as good as last year  but just as much fun.

I didn't think I was going to make this shoot this time, but I got to the range today and shoot my targets. I hope they get to you in time Daryl!! I will put them in the mail in the morning. This was alot of fun...alot of getting up, and down, and a lot of walking, but I had a blast doing it. Not sure where I will score, but I had fun!!

Not a dumb question, but I would say 2 holes touching each other as close to the bull as possible.

how about for a half-blind old fat guy?

If a modern deer rifle is should shoot inside four inches at 100, how about a BP gun at 50 shot chunk style? How big a group is really awful?
