She's Red.  More red than I expected.  The color is growing on me.  This is my first build from a blank and 2nd build ever.   Lot's of firsts on this.  Made my own inlays, trigger, trigger plate, nose cap, side plate, toe plate, patch box, front sight, and button mechanism.   Inlays are Sterling Silver which after engraving will get blacked and rubbed back with the brass.  I made several of each part till I was satisfied.  1st shot at carving as well.

She's a .40 with a 42" A weight barrel.  Small Siler.  I'm still not finished,  I need some final polishing on brass, brown the barrel, dome the lock bolts AND some engraving. But before I take it apart again I took a few pictures.    I started this in August of 13 and I'm almost sorry to see her almost finished.

Critiques, suggestions, flaws pointed out are all welcome.  I'm happy with the progress I've made skill wise but not satisfied and have a thick skin so let me have it.

Nice rifle but beautiful pictures. You could teach me a few things about photography.

FYI, a green background will fool the camera into making the gun look more red. You have a lot of green tile in your backgrounds.  Try two shots, same settings, same distance same section of gun, one with green background, one with a neutral grey. They color of the gun will appear dramatically different when you compare the photos.

You gun does not look too red to me.
