polishing compound
« on: January 16, 2016, 07:57:37 PM »
on occasion I have the need to use a buffer, I use brownells polishing grit which is great
but some times I would like to use the hard stick type you buy at lowes ect.
question is how do you get the hard grit to stick to your buffing wheel?
any ideas appreciated
thanks

The compound is usually in a wax type base. The heat from the friction of holding it against the wheel softens it and allows it to stick. You don't need much. Be sure to use a separate wheel for each type of compound.
