GPR Lock

Last summer/early fall I built a Lyman GPR flinter .54 cal. Just a summer project, did some inlays and a little extra stock work to spice it up a little. Shoots really well too.  One thing I was a little disappointed with the gun was that the lock is looks almost exactly like an older TC lock. I thought Lyman would put a nicere lock on this rifle and I'm hoping their frizzen is of better quality than the TC ones used to be...  I've been looking at replacing it with a L&R....    Has anybody had experiences with changing this lock?   Is it worth the $150 to replace it...?     Thoughts...?

I have done two of them, and it is a little work, but the difference in performance is worth every nickel and hour of your time.  Coil springs have no business in a 18th, 19th century lock.
