New Museum of the Shenandoah Display
« on: February 11, 2016, 05:16:33 AM »
The Museum of the Shenandoah Valley has acquired an extensive number of Shenandoah Valley Guns. All except for one were made in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley(includes some made in what is now West Virginia. At present four of the guns are on display at the Museum. There is a Sheetz, a Grandstaff, a Shane and a Haymaker. Along with the display are various accouterments, horns, bags and ball molds. There are 43 guns in the acquisition and these four are the first to be exhibited. The complete collection is in the planing stage for resident exhibition, hopefully by the end of this year and first of next. If you are in the Winchester VA area it will be well your time to stop in to the Museum for the rifles and the rest of the exhibits of the museum. Admission is free on Wednesdays 10AM to4PM.  Some of the regulars on this forum know the collector personally and his collection is truly wonderful. The web address www.themsv.org/

Thanks for posting & so grateful that this collection was kept intact. I am sure they are many Virginia collectors and friends of the previous owner who feel good about this.

Thanks, valongrifles for posting this.
It would be a benefit to any builder or collector with interest in Shenandoah valley Va. rifles to see them.
There are a few Hampshire county Va./W.V. rifles among the group as well.
A great collection that took a life time to build!
