Very nifty with it's extra long finials on every thing. The box is super unique too. I'd like to repop that one some day.
Probably one of the most interesting Hawkins rifles I have seen in a while.

I agree with you Mike, that is one of the neatest N.C. rifles I have seen.  I thoroughly enjoyed looking at it yesterday as well as today.  I am sure I will keep checking it out.

Is it really an antique?  'Cause it has one of those newfangled Hawkins locks on it like the one I just sold...

Maybe Sadie built this one before the Hawkins moved west.   It is a unique rifle.  The butt stock is really thin.  Neat patchbox.

The lock is a replacement from 30 plus years ago. The rifle is old.

I'd love to see the inside of that patchbox.  The hinge, as was mentioned, but also wonder what the storage intent was, being so narrow.  Wonder if a row of roundballs would fit nicely, or just patches and cleaning stuff, or was it just made to be different and decorative?

NC for sure just from the architecture. Other than that i got nothin.

Beautiful rifle with a unique patch box. The butt plate and toe plate look like one piece of steel also is it just me or do the barrel flats look much sharper beneath the wood?
