Latest build. My #8 rifle.
« on: March 27, 2016, 12:31:05 AM »
Showing off the latest work from my bench. This is build #8 for me. Started with a pre-carve with just the barrel inlet and ramrod channel drilled. It has a  straight 15/16 .54 Colerain barrel and an L&R Dickert lock.   Did a bit of carving, but it is not really my forte.  What do you guys think? I welcome all input, and am always striving to get better.  Thanks.

Nice looking rifle. Like the color of your stain. I'm working on my carving too. It all takes time to learn each part of a build. Well done.

Good job!  Clean lines.  I also like the finish and the also the finish on the metal.  Did you brown it and then boil the parts in distilled water?

Thanks guys. I used aquafortis and tru oil for the stock. I just browned the parts, and cleaned them up with a soft scouring pad with baking soda water.
