Stock Repair

I need contact information for anyone qualified to render and estimate for repairs or replacement for an antique ML stock of about 150 years of age.

Replication of the existing stock will require significant inlay work, installation of a pewter fore end cap etc....

PM if you prefer and thanks on the front end for any leads.

There's several guys here that could help you out.

It would help if you could give a better idea of what you want done, and why you think the stock needs to be replaced as opposed to being repaired. A few pictures would help a lot.

Yes, why are you replacing the stock? And to think some people here get heartburn over a reconversion.....

I don't wish to replace the stock, but do not know if it is repairable. In either case I need an estimate for insurance purposes.





The gun was made by Geo. O. Leonard and in general terms is a round ball target gun of about 25 pound and .52 caliber.

Anything is repairable, you just have to find the right guy.

I've seen a lot worse. Have it repaired. Get the trigger guard repaired, too.

You might give Jack Brooks a call, and see what he could do for you.  Not cheap, however he does a LOT of restoration/conservation work.
