Current project... Little late.
« on: June 13, 2016, 12:00:04 AM »
Missed the recent round of "Current Projects,"  but I took a few pictures today and thought I'd post them.
So far so good, but I was a little careless in my wood selection.  So far I've found a few worn holes to deal with in the for-end and as I inlet the patchbox I'm getting pretty nervous as to what it's going to be like when I start to carve this thing.

Hi Jeff,
That is going to be a beauty!!  I love the narrow lock moldings.  It gives such elegance and gracefulness to the lock area.  I am looking forward to seeing the finished gun.

Jim,

I made the box starting with one of Jim Chambers blanks, essentially two rectangles with a folded end on each for the hinge.

Dave,

I can't wait to see it finished myself, but as with all my projects it goes in spurts.  This one's coming off a big pause as I'm finishing up some painting around the house.  Hopefully now I can keep at it.
It's already approaching its first anniversary.  :D

Sure nicely shaped through the lock into the wrist. Elegant for sure.
