Thanks. I have never considered myself an outstanding carver. I can get carving on a gun, but not like alot of the guys on here can.

That's the plan. I'll not be taking on any commissioned work at that time. I'll just build what strikes my fancy at the moment at a much less grueling pace.

I build 12-18 guns a year, all depends how elaborate the guns are.

Took it out today. Shot the beauty offhand. 75 grains FFFG, .015 spit patched pillow ticking and a .575 round ball. 25 yards distance. Recoil wasn't too awful bad, shots all landed at 3:00 o'clock 9 and 8 ring on the 100 yard 8 ring big bull. Going to bang that rear sight over a tad then look out boys. I must admit that I took way too much time just admiring this fine piece of work. It's a keeper! I'm proud to call Mike a buddy. He's a fine fellow and a brilliant artist.

That one will have a number. Check on the trigger plate, if it's not on the barrel it will be there. That .40 is one of my all time favorites, Carlson mounts and a nice piece of wood. Best shooting gun I have ever shot too. I'd love to get the time to make a few more along those lines.

THe number is on the trigger plate. You probably know that Myron copied that furniture from my original Rowan County rifle. I tried to buy the miniature copy he built of the rifle
No luck there.
That and the Allen Martin copy of my Mauger are my two favorite contemporary pieces. Never got lucky enough to get one of EK's
