R. Gale Lock

Came across a lock kit yesterday marked, R. Gale Lock, Warren, Michigan. The name R. T. Golebiewski was also on the envelope that contained the lock parts. The lock plate was shaped similar to a large Siler. Does anyone know of these locks and what quality they were?  I , personally had never seen or heard of these locks. I found this in some stuff owned by a fellow who frequented Friendship about 40 years ago. Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

That sounds about right.  I used a couple of Gale's locks on builds in the severties/eighties.  (20th century)  They were ok but I remember futzing with them at the time.

I knew Ron fairly well in the late eighties early nineties, by then I believe he was done producing locks/kits.
the couple I put together, where difficult because the alloy was so hard on taps. even after annealing.
