Well it's taken me four guns, and three tries on thumbpieces, but finally got one in just about perfect. No gaps, no need for bedding compound, just a tight fit and pins. A very uplifiting little victory!
Blowing pics up 4X larger shows me I need to do some more sanding though..
Working on the carving, too, got this side just about there. This Beck has way more on it than any other I've done so far...
