Powder horn by Billy Griner
« on: August 11, 2016, 03:42:59 AM »
I thought I would share some pictures I took of this, a new contemporary powder horn by Billy Griner, engraved in his Satilla River style. This was awarded a Judges Choice Ribbon at Dixons this year.

Very cool.  I've never seen a strap attachment like this (attached to the horn directly).

That is one pretty piece of burled wood for the butt plug.  Superb horn.  Congrats.

Yes, Billy Griner's contemporary work is amazing. (His traditional Southern stuff is just as good by the way.)

That staple in the throat area is more of a "belt loop" meant to keep the strap from sliding off and not a direct point of attachment.

Very pleasing to the eye.  I like how the fish is emerging from behind the frond.

Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.
