Sketches of Hunting Pouches... by Jim Webb Book question
« on: August 18, 2016, 06:23:45 PM »
I have begun trying to make my own hunting pouches. I have T.C. Albert's book which has been a great help to me. I was wondering if Sketches of Hunting Pouches, Powder Horns and Accoutrements of Southern Appalachia by Jim Webb would be worth getting as well.

Thanks,
Jeremiah

Jim Webb's book is well worth buying. Lots of good ideas on pouches, horns and other accouterments. I have his standard book and one that is in color that is bound in linen or leather with 50 extra pages.

Kind Regards

I got my copy a couple of years ago while at Dixons from Ian Pratt's table.  You may have to contact Mr. Webb, but in case you see one here is what the cover looks like, the only change is "With Additions".

Spotted Bull,
I just sent you a PM with a possible address for Jim Webb. I am not sure if it acceptable to post a mailing address/contact information that is not my own if so I can post it for everyone.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I guess I should have looked more thoroughly before I asked. I thought I could order from a couple of places but they have sold out. I will have to keep digging.

Ian is having internet troubles at the moment and asked me to post this for him this morning:

Jeremiah - At the CLA show James Rogers told me that you were on here looking for a copy of Sketches of Hunting Pouches. We have just a few copies left. This is the new color edition with an added chapter. Also have some of his set trigger books. Jim Webb told me he will not be printing either of these any more, so unless somebody else picks them up and reprints them, they will be gone. I don't want to turn your thread into an ad, so if interested please contact me by PM for price and shipping...Ian Pratt

My pleasure...
I think Ian is about the only one left selling these...
he is selling them directly for Jim, and once these
are gone there are no plans for anymore reprints...

Mr. Albert,
Thanks again for helping me with this. I was able to contact Mr. Pratt about purchasing one. I'm glad I heard about this book before it was too late.
