Does anyone recognize this barrel mark?   An H inside a triangle.

Mike, it's been many years ago...actually late 70's I think...........that I wanted to build some longrifles with 48" straight barrels.  I heard about H & H Barrel Works in Maryland (I think) .......and I contacted them and ordered 2 barrels.  I think the guy's name was Hoppy Hopkins.  Like I say, it's been a long time, but I think maybe that was his stamp.

Haven't heard anything about him since so it might have been a couple of machine shop guys that wanted to make barrels.

I remember they shot really good!  Just my 2 cents.............

I don't know about the H in the triangle, but if it is an H&H barrel you will have a good shooter.
Tommy Hobbs and Hoppy Hopkins were a couple of excellent shooters that made barrels that would match their abilities. they were from Maryland.  They formed H&H barrels in the mid-seventies.  There weren't too many barrel makers around when they started.  I don't know when they quit.  I think there was something about Paris buying them out. Anyway, Tommy Hobbs, who was a heck of a nice guy got cancer and died.  Hoppy Hopkins moved to Florida the last I heard.

An H&H barrel will have H&H, the twist rate, and the caliber to 3 digits (example: .500) stamped on the breech end of the barrel.

What did/does Long Hammock's stamp look like?
