Small, around .050. I automatically drill them out to .062"

I do the same as Dennis, drill it out to .062, I don't shoot as much as I used to but have never shot out one of these liners.

As they come from Jim Chambers the touchhole diameter is .055". I always start with the stock diameter to see how it preforms before thinking about enlarging the diameter.

Every flintlock I have except 1 Caywood has a Chambers white lightning and all are drilled out to 1/16th. At that size all are reliable an fast as lightning. I shoot quite a bit an have yet too burn one out. I would be curious to know just how many shots it would take to do so

Yip, that is correct. The TOW version is NOT the same.... Chamber's is to my knowledge the only source for the real deal...

Yes that is true. Personally I prefer the ones from TOTW, the internal chamber is slightly larger.  Others will differ in their preference.

As far as the touch hole size, I've never compared them, but they are probably about the same.  I drill mine out to 1/16 as well.  I have a 3/64 (.047) drill that will slide into the touch hole, so as they come from TOTW they are probably in the .050-.055 range.

Yip, the Track of the Wolf liner has a smaller diameter that the Jim Chambers White Lighting. I have not measured the Track liner but I will and let you know the size. I will bring a sample of both to your next shoot to show you. You have seen me shoot my rifle many times and know how reliable the and quick the ignition is. I log all of my shots since replacing the barrel and that barrel now has 3,427 shots through it and it still has the original Jim Chambers White Lighting touch hole liner installed in it. I have recently checked the liner and the next size number drill will not fit through the liner and that drill size is a #53 .059". Not all rifles will perform the same and on some I have had to increase the touch hole diameter due to slower that acceptable ignition time. There are many variables that cause this such as liner position in the barrel, the lock, lock location etc. Hope this helps you. See you Nov. 2nd.

I have measured the Track of the Wolf White Lighting liner and found that a # 57 .043 will loosely pass and a #56 .046 will not pass through the touch hole.

Faster ignition is to be had if bored to 1/16", just as many have already said.  I prefer .070", but they'll get there soon enough, in about a year of shooting - if shot weekly on trail walks.

Check the TOW catalog, they also offer the same configuration in 1/4 X 28 thread.   I keep them in stock to use when replacing 1/4 X 28 liners in commercial or other maker's guns.

When is it time to replace a vent liner..?

      I replace them when the hole becomes enlarged, .075 or larger or irregular shaped.  Vent liners are most often ruined by folks using hardened steel vent picks or the abrasive torch tip cleaners to clean the vent hole.   Some folks just should not have tools .....
