http://americanlongrifles.org/forum/index.php?topic=39350.msg380885Back in April I had posted a question about the touch hole liner in a custom longrifle I had purchased and was answered with many good ideas. When shooting the gun, it had many flashes in the pan and had to be picked often to fire. I removed the pinned barrel, removed the breach plug and found 1/8" of fouling on the plug up to the touch hole. After a good cleaning, I drilled the liner hole through and tapped the threads the full depth into the barrel and chamfered the outer edge. I installed a TOW inside coned 1/4-28 liner and put it back together. Upon firing I had to pick one time on a failure to fire, so as per reading about touch hole size on the forum, I drilled the hole to .062". Fired 10 shots in a row today with no picking and all went off., gun is doing great and i am pleased with it, many thanks for the help, this is a great site.
