Unsigned plain rifle

In my travels I found a unsigned KY/PA rifle. It's in good solid condition but plain as can be. Iron mounted 1/2 stock percussion & I'm guessing cherry or black walnut with a Golcher lock. In the last several months I have looked & looked first with a magnifying glass then a jewelers loop trying to find a name (other than the lock) with no luck. The only mark found is on the muzzle ( .L. ). The gun shows plenty of use, not abuse. The cal. is .30 or .32 & the rifling is almost perfect, I'm thinking refreshed. Has anyone come across such markings on the muzzle? Could it be the initial of the person that refreshed the rifling? I'm looking forward to your thought's, Thanx

If its iron mounted its probably not a Pa. product.  Are the mountings forged or cast.  One really can't tell much without a picture. There are directions for posting pictures in the TUTORIAL section of this site.

The iron but plate is forged in 2 pieces. The trigger guard is 4 pieces. I will be happy to take some photos & email the to you. I tried to use photobucket & it was a mess.

It's my understanding that Bill Large marked barrels with a capital "L" on the muzzle of barrels he cut.  If the bore is that good,  maybe he freshed it out.  Doesn't mean he built the rifle.
