Your dovetail does not look too far out to my eye.,  If it were my project, I'd cut off the front and rear of the sight blade leaving maybe 3/16" in front and behind the dovetail.  Then bend what is left to align with the bore, and file the sides of the blade to remove the kinks.  There will only be a little filing.  There sights are way too long to my thinking.

Didn't think of that, but you are right Taylor - these sights are WAY too long.  A short, rounded coin-type sight would be fine, no more than 3/8" long- or maybe just a tich longer.

Looks to me as though the sight itself is also not centered on the base as well as being crooked.All in all looks like a little tinkering like everybody's saying should work or maybe just order another and see if it's straight.

I have fixed those by cutting a new sight to set properly. I always use the rule of thumb, if something needs altered, do it to the cheapest piece of a project if possible.
