Half stock rifle

Just completed this little halfstock rifle. 38 caliber by 3/4" barrel, made by Ed Rayl. Castings from original mounts, capbox by RE Davis, Davis triggers, had to make the rear sight. Rifle was a bit of trouble in that when drilling the ramrod hole there was an unseen knot just past the point where the ramrod enters the stock.....this caused the ramrod to vear off to the lock side in such a fashion that the ramrod would be in the mainspring. Had to remove the web and redirect the ramrod.

Looks really good. I especially like that finish.

Gaeckle, in the sixth picture, it looks like the hammer is hitting the nipple on an angle? Guess that could just be an optical illusion, not sure. Beautiful rifle by the way. Respectfully, Mikeh
