Does anyone know where I might be able to get plans or drawings for a French Type D fusil?

Although Track sells a kit, which is mostly inletted, they don't have a plan or drawing.  If I don't find one soon I may have to try to get dimensions off of photos.

The lock on the TOW gun is entirely incorrect. Look at the ''French trade gun in North America'' for what a french lock should look like.

The Museum Of The Fur Trade in Chadron, Nebraska has a beautiful collection of French type smoothbores. It might be worth a phone call to them to see if they have any in print on the demendtions of their originals. One of the most enjoyable museums I have every visited.

Track updated their plans for their Tulle fusil de chasse and removed the errors noted in my 1st build (when I didn't know any better ...). Perhaps that might help you with overall profile, less details required by your build/tome period, i.e., screwed vs pinned trigger guard etc.

All of my muzzleloaders will shoot into one ragged hole ALL DAY LONG ... it's just the 2nd or 3rd & other shots that tend to open up my groups ... !

Ditto on the lock. The only correct lock I've seen available in catalogs was from The Rifle Shop.

I was not worried about the lock or anything but the basic shape and dimensions of the stock especially the buttstock.  But I think I changed my mind and am going to use the basic design of the Bum ford trade gun stock or maybe Curtis's Carolina gun.
