A restocked southern turkey gun

Back in 2012 I made myself a brass mounted english style fowler with a 32 inch 12 ga oct to round Colerain barrel that has been jug choked by Danny Caywood. I used a Chambers round faced english lock an I stocked it with a precarve an all though the gun shot great turkey killing patterns and also done fine groups to about 60 yds with a 690 ball I was never happy with the looks as I made a ton of mistakes on it. Then came last spring when going down a steep hill I slipped an fell on the gun breaking it at the wrist. Take note that they are not designed to be fallen on by fat rednecks. This upset me but after the first cry I talked to Joe Schell an sent him the barrel an lock so he turned it into a southern iron mounted smooth rifle for me. He put it into a good piece of slab sawn maple an he forged all the parts an threw some age on it as I asked him too. He nailed the looks that I like an now all it need is a big mouthed longbeard at 25 yds an all will be well. Joe is a true gentleman to work with. He will keep you updated with progress of your build an send you pics along an it kinda makes you feel like your there. Kinda/sorta there. Hope ya like it

Wattlebuster, I really like the looks of that gun! Your accident really worked out for the good. I hope you get a nice, fat gobbler with it this Spring.

Beautiful gun there Allen. Now all you need is a nice beard hanging from the trigger guard.
Kind Regards

Not only does Joe do fine work, he's a pleasure to talk to!
