Primer - Carved walnut beaver by Lowell Haarer of VA
« on: March 12, 2017, 11:43:31 PM »

I thought y'all might enjoy this little flintlock pan primer I picked up from Lowell at the New Market show.

I quite a lot of work went into carving, fitting and finishing the little guy.

Too cute to leave sitting on his table.

Best wishes, and God Bless,   Marc

I like that quite a bit, and I don't really live in good beaver country. Do you fill it through the nose, or maybe the tail comes off???

I agree.  Lowell is quite a craftsman.  You should see the rifles!

The beaver is filled by unscrewing the spout.  There is a brass insert that holds it in the wood.  Fabulous quality on a tiny scale.

God Bless,   Marc
