Lonrifle pick in stock

I thought this was a neat way to store a nipple pick. Found on Longrifle at Wichita gun show.

Full View of the rifle --Nothing on visible surface to indicate maker. Lock is marked Leman lancaster.
Barrel is shortened from original length. Converted from flintlock?

It's my understanding the that was usually a "feather hole" used to keep a feather in till it was put into the touch hole of an empty barrel.  Picks are normally found beneath the cheek piece.

That is very interesting and makes me think it was originally flint. I may be able to take another look next weekend at the Tulsa show.
