Barrel Inletting Services
« on: April 14, 2009, 10:33:48 PM »
For students attending the NMLRA Gunsmithing Seminar at WKU the instructors occasionally need to send out to students a list of people/businesses that will inlet a tapered and flared barrel and drill a ramrod hole. Below is a list we sent out a couple of years ago and I'm asking this board's help in checking the list to see if these folks are still in business AND to see if there are other names that we should add.

Fred Miller, (570)-922-1861, 4025 Red Ridge RD. Mifflinburg, PA 17844

Mark Weader (717)-543-5370. (Best to call him before 2 PM.) Jack's Mountain Stocks, 101 Cave Lane, McClure, Pennsylvania 17841

Ronny Rhodes (570)-427-4749 Location? Somewhere in NE PA

Freddie Harrison (731) 742-2990 Harrison Gun Stocks, 81 Trenton Hwy, Bradford, TN

Dave Rase (360) 479-1888.  5509 NW Gross Rd. Bremerton, Wa. 98312

I had hoped a list like this would already be posted as a resource but did not fine one.

Thanks for your help!
Gary

Dave is a member. He does a nice job for a fair price, and timely too.

Who is Ronny Rhodes?  I've lived in NEPA all my life and never heard of him.   Can someone fill me in on his location?

I talked to Freddie Harrison at the CLA show about inletting a swamped barrel. He said he only inlets straight barrels. Just thought I would give that heads up for those needing a swamped barrel inlet.

'bout 2 miles west of Hudsondale 6 Mi west of Weatherly.  He sets up at Dixon's Gunmakers Fair usually in the Easterly most tent!

I've had Virgil Otto of Oxford, OH inlet straight barrels for me.  He did a fine job for me and routed and drilled ramrod channels and holes as well.  He also inlets swamps and tapered barrels.  His website is gunstocksplus.com.

Thanks for the info on Ron. He can't be more than 20 miles from me. I never heard of him. After I posted asking about him I remembered someone telling me of a stock carver near Hazelton.
