Another bug eating horn question...
« on: April 21, 2017, 01:21:25 AM »
A good friend of mine passed away last year. His son new I liked black powder rifles, acroutments and all that is involved. Anyhow to make a long story short, I ended up with a few of his powder horns and other similar stuff. I noticed hen I got the horns that they had the signs of bugs eating on them. Now the issue is this..... I have some nice horns that I've made, but want to bring my friends horns into the house. Will that put my own horns into danger?

Follow some of the advice given in the other thread. Treat the horns your bringing into your home before the arrive. Then treat them again along with the horns you already have.

Thanks for the reply, one last thing, all my horns that I've made have wax on the surface and most have powder in them or have had powder in them the last year.... Do they still need to be wiped down with bug killer?
