Speaking of triggers...
« on: April 17, 2009, 09:48:06 PM »
I'd like to know if some manufacturers of set triggers just drill a pilot (tap) hole for those little no.3 x 48 adjustment screws and just force fit them in without tapping the hole? Like using the screw as a self tapping screw. I've had a couple heads break off the tiny screws while trying to get them in a little further for that last bit of hair trigger tuning >:(
TG I had a spare this last time!

I just went thru this with Tim at RE Davis.  They crimp the threads from the top after they tap it so the screw doesn't vibrate loose. It seems the last one I bought, the guy that crimped it was a little heavy handed.  I sent it back and they retapped it and sent me a few extra screws.

Basically take a punch and compress or cave them in the threads to make them tight.
