If I was going to build myself a turkey masher, this is what I'd build. In fact If I were going to build an upland gun I'd build the same gun with less jug. The gun goes about 8 lbs and handles extremely well, I think I could swat loads of pheasants with a gun like this. I must say I am very impressed with this particular barrel profile, even the length is handy, not too long, not to short and swings well. In fact If a fella wanted to knock some geese down this would be the gun for that too.

Well the turkey masher arrived today to say I am pleased would certainly be an understatement. Mike thanks for a great ten gauge fowler. Now to get to the range and work up a load for it. We'll see how a tight jug choked ten gauge performs.  I also like the name and town on the buttplate unique touch. Never be any doubt who owns that turkey gun. Thanks again Mike. The best of luck.with the upcoming surgeries. Tim

You'll probably have to get your shoulder operated on after working up a load for that big masher. ;) Let me know if you need some suggestions/help on loads. I had a customer I built 6 or 7 turkey guns for and he shared his load work up with me. He hunted turks in 8 states. One of them was a full jugged 10 bore with a 50" barrel. I also built him a stumpy little 10 bore with a 30" barrel, It wouldn't shoot as tight as the long gun.
Glad you like the gun, I know I sure do.

I can use all the help I can get so share any knowledge or data on making this a real turkey killer that you may have. Never shot a ten gauge flint, just a twelve bore so I'm all ears.  you can email info if to extensive to post. You missed a heck of a hog hunt. Tim

That is an awesome gun; no doubt about it.  Bet it was tempting to keep it for yourself.

Big Badda boom earned its place in my safe today. Nice three year turkey taken with the Brooks  10 gauge. Loaded since the beginning of season. Went off instantly.
Been tough trying to kill one this year due to limiting my travel. Thanks Mike for a great Fowler. Tim Cosby (no r)

Lot of early mornings in that bird. Close calls a few but mostly just long distance gobbled. He finally lost his hens and got lonesome I suppose.  He'll be some fine eating.

Wondering why these pics don't load for me.  I tried another browser, two other browsers.  Nothing but blocks.
