Thanks for all of the kind words. The barrel is 1" x 36" although it seems longer in the photos. I had trouble finding a .50 cal 1 x 36 so I wound up cutting down and re-crowning a 42". The rifle weighs 10 1/4 lbs. No, Daryl, it wasn't Hatchet Jack. A close friend of mine asked me to build it for her fella. He doesn't know much about traditional muzzleloaders but was really taken with them when he saw some of mine so she asked me to build him one. He loves the rifle. I'm hoping to recruit him into our ranks! He's even taking blacksmithing classes.
