Flintlock lock
« on: July 29, 2017, 07:13:21 PM »
I started building a new rifle on scale. Today I finished the lock.
Paul Hamler sent me a PDF with a drawing of a Lancaster rifle, Isaac Haines style.
I am very glad with it. Now I will try to make a swamped barrel. I think it is a lot of filing for me.
I found a Gun building Tutorial of Mike Brooks. I think I can use that very well.
I will let you know when it is finished

That's incredibly nice work. Personally, I have never been able to grasp these "little guns". I'd feel really defeated after all the work of building the gun you couldn't use it for anything. I'm probably missing a major point or something... ???

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?
