Congradulations to all the winners !!! I have wanted to attend for a long time. I know nothing of the past or present judging , just that I have seen a number of beautiful creations over the years that have done well there. The array of beautiful entries , makes me glad I`m not a judge. This disease I`ve got, forces me to want/need to lay hands on rifles / guns when in their presence so, that part would be great. I do hope to someday attend.   Nate

Sean,  Great looking gun.  Your inlays and engraving on the patchbox caught my eye right away after I entered my gun on Friday.  Great looking piece of wood and finish as well.  You did good!!  TomG

I really like your rifle, Sean. It has a lot of creativity and some unusual stock architecture that appeals to me very much. I dig that crisp cheekpiece line that runs into the panel.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

Hi Mike,
Yes.  I believe in apprentice class for contemporary gun.  It is very creative and well done.

I like it myself. In fact I can't find anything about it that I don't like. One of those guns where the more you look the more you see.

Thanks guys. Different and creative is what I was going for. Squirrel season opens on the 15th here in Indiana, so it's getting ready to be put through its paces. Can't wait to get some .30 cals cast and get at it.

Mike, it got 1st in patch box/mortice, 2nd in confirmation, and 3rd in craftsmanship.

That's a beautiful rifle. Its very interesting indeed. You should be very proud of that build.I have one question about youre patchbox? How do you open it?Or is it just for decoration?

Basically just decoration. Its a grease hole with a horn "surround". A horn patch box was the original idea, but I clicked out.
