I have several extra sets of castings off of that gun that I don't need.

Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

I didn't see the article but I remember seeing many North Carolina "looking" rifles in the displays at the Buffalo Bill museum in Cody, Wy. Most were listed as unidentified, unsigned, or trade rifles. Most also appeared to be made in the Jamestown, NC area. This did set in motion my thoughts about just how many NC rifles went west as trade guns. The demand here just wasn't large enough to support the huge gunmaking industry located in Guilford, Co, NC. I like to see the article too or maybe you could post it for everyone to view. I'd appreciate it.
