Hello, Here is a little more information on this rifle. The letters scribed on the top of the flat do seem to look to be a cursive D a star and then a B. The straight rifling stops about 2" in and the Muzzle seems to be swamped. From land to land, the cal is 48. A .457 ball with a .15 patch is a perfect fit . I had the slight crack at the lock bolt head repaired and second brass ramrod thimble made and put on by an area Gunmaker here in Ohio. He helped me with this information.
