More Black horns for White Feather
« on: September 09, 2017, 04:12:09 AM »
J, these are the best pictures I have of my St Louis style horns. I realize that a lot of you have seen these before and I beg your indulgence

This is the first one I ever did and from there I got a little crazier with my styling

This is how I laid out the pieces on the back bone for the base. The black is buffalo horn but I didn't show it because it is to hard to see.

Ron,
I am glad that you like inlaying horn on horn because I sure don't.  Wonderful looking work.  Stunning is the word that comes to mind.

Thank you all for your kind words. I guess this is a case of art picking you instead of you picking the art. I have three more started and my wife loves the way my clothes smell after I work on one for awhile🙄😂

Ron,
I love your St. Louis style buffalo horns.
I like to say that I can make what you do in half the time with one eighth the quality.
I wish I had your persistence and willingness to just take the time and put in the thought to make something so precise (without losing any of the charm by the way). I am a fan!

Nicely done.  What type of bone are you using?  Buff, dear, cow ...?

TNB, they tell me it is ox bone. I found it on ebay at a pretty reasonable price.
