new muzzle loader shooter
« on: September 11, 2017, 01:08:18 AM »
Today I brought an old rifle that I refurbished to a young man that mowed my lawn this summer. His first time shooting  black powder rifles. You should have seen his face after the first shoot, biggest smile I have seen in years. He asked if he could use it for deer season this year,I told him it is his gun and if he wants to use it have at it.  I have never been more proud of a young fella than today. His dad and I hunt together every time we get a chance.  New shooter in the making.   john

Good for you.  Something about that cloud of smoke just turns them on.  Adding in a little history reinforces the lesson.

Good for you !    I've done the same a few times over the last 30 years. Sometimes it really is better to give than receive.

Excellent move on your part.  That's one good way to get them interested in BP.

Fantastic. Nothing like the look on someone's face the first time the touch off a flintlock. They are usually hooked. More of us need to do what you did. Thank you!

Not really that cool, I have no kids myself so I like to take other peoples kids and teach them something different. This one really took the bait.  Hook line and sinker.    john
