I live in the Mobile area and saw the gun today. It's actually a percussion double barrel shotgun. It's in poor to fair condition. Not really sure why they thought it was a Kentucky rifle.

You never know about these things. It's like the ads here for the lottery  "You can't win if you don't play ".The odds of finding something are about like the odds of winning the lottery though.
