There were two of the best bench shooters in New England and they were shooting custom very high quality light bench rifles, with longer barrels They took me under there wing and tought me what it would have taken me ten years to learn on my own. I thought that bench shooting was quite simple. Just rest the rifle on the bench and punch out the ten ring. WRONG. Reading the light, moving the sight during the match, and reading the wind. The match included shooting fifty yards, one hundred yards, and two hundred yards. One of them told me to sight in at fifty yards, and raise my sight eighteen clicks for the one hundred yd target. Then movie it an additional seventy two clicks for the two hundred yd target. I did exactly what they said and the elevation was @!*% near perfect. Then I just had to adjust for the wind. Thats just some of it. What an education I had this weekend. I can't waite to get back to it again.
