Marvel Mystery Oil - just saw some at Walmart this afternoon.  I'll go back and buy the jug - always wanted some

and I could not find it up here.  Now, we know it is - supposed to be a marvelous thin oil.

Barrel maker Ken Bresien(sp?) used to store the gun barrels he made filled with automatic transmission fluid.

all
i am not advocating any one product, but am surprised no one has mentioned wd-40 as having any use on the bench?
i use it daily on all my builds muzzle loader and BPCR's as needed. still use 3 in 1, and a old bottle of viet nam era LSA weapons oil. i still like gun grease too on heavy friction contact areas. hard to get past the 100% humidity i once endured for years in Mich. and my rifles are not rusty.

I use WD-40.  Only on my locks after washing/rinsing them with cool running water & old toothbrush, blow dry(compressed air), then spray/coat w/WD40.  Let them set on a shop towel overnight, wipe off excess & lube moving parts with Breakfree.  Also use Breakfree to coat bore after cleaning.
