Just received this from Eureka Iron Works.
It's going on the wall of my office so I can be distracted and daydream in style.

Mab7 as you probably are going to do. I would put black felt strips on the hooks. Keep from scratching your guns.

Oh yes, there will most definitely be felt, or possibly leather, strips applied for protection!

This rack has a limited degree of security. he cabinet at the bottom opens with a key. Then, the vertical bar in front on the left can be lifted and the rifle removed from the rack.
The wooden security bar can easily be broken to access the rifles. I have thought of substituting a metal security bar, but the firearms are located in a secure area with a metal, double deadbolt entrance door.

"This rack has a limited degree of security."

There is no such thing as secure display for mortals.
I used to deal in high security, we used to talk about slowing down the attack, never securing.
Ask anybody in theft protection.

Even though I live in a rural area on family property we've had since 1832....I don't intend to hang mine on the wall; too much thieving going on in some areas. If mine are stolen....they're gonna have to break into a pretty good safe to get mine! >:( >:(

A lot of good looking racks for on the wall but I'm looking for options for smaller one-two-or three gun display racks that I can use at gun shows/ trade fairs etc. Some thing that would enable me to have more guns on display than would normally fit on a 8' table. Just looking for examples.  :)

Ron, I also have one like yours but it only carries a couple of suppository rifles, old military, and some cleaning/seating rods.  The drawer is full of percussion caps and misc. sights & such.

I believe the Phillips head screw was patented in 1913 by Henry Phillips... he was born in the 1880s and died in the 1950s. It's considered a big deal in the antique car world... people who don't have anything better to complain about always harp on them.
