Testing two variables when shooting round balls

I want to test two variables - one at a time - for shooting round balls in my .72-caliber rifles. Not more than 100 patches are needed. Is there any sort of reseller who offers round ball patches - preferably of linen, but pillow ticking being acceptable - for .70- to .73-caliber RBs? Thickness of material is not critical. Only consistency of material thickness and weave is important.

What diameter are the patches you currently use if you are using pre-cut??

There is an ad in the last issue of Muzzle Blasts mag. for a place called 96 District Fabrics. web site  96fabrics. They probably don't have pre cut patches but might stock linen.

Eastern Maine Shooting Supply sells pre-cut patches for the .70-.79 cal (1 3/4" diameter) and .80-.89 cal (2") in .010", .015", .020", and pillow ticking

Track of the Wolf also sells the patches you're seeking.  I suspect they are the Eastern Maine Shooting Supply (the old Ox-Yoke Originals I believe) mentioned earlier.

I have noticed, several times over the years, that OxYoke pre-cut patches all measure .003" to .005" thinner than what the package indicates.

The OxYoke .018" patches for me, measured .014"/.015" in my calipers, compressed.

Best to get some 8, 10 & 12 ounce denim and have at it. The 8 ounce I measure at .018", the 10 at .022" and 12 ounce, at .030"- compresses hard in my calipers.
You can subtract a few to up to 4 thousandth's for a hard compressed mic measure on this stuff.

Many thanks to all of you for furnishing my solution. Unfortunately, the tests are delayed. Minor problems with my rifles. Rifles cannot be used until my gun maker locates the problem and fixes it. I did get two shots with the one stocked in Bastogne walnut.

I considered posting photographs until I realized that beginning with 1.25-inch barrel blanks and a couple of 2.5-inch diameter chunks of round stock and ending with rifles is information overload for you and massive anxiety attack that the five-plus years were photo-described inadequately. Since my palms are sweating just thinking about it, I'll forego photographs,

I can see the 1  1/4" barrel blanks allright, but am lost on what the 2.5 " dia. chunks were for...  It's ok but it Does puzzle me.
