H. ASTON rifle PICTURES ADDED need answers PLEASE

I just purchased a H.ASTON rifle. Its pretty nice. What I've found is that he was a pistol maker, no real data on rifles.. anybody shed some light?  what kind of money might it be worth ? Its a 32+/- cal. long rifle full stock. Has H. ASTON on top of barrel. beautiful curly maple wood.

Henry Aston of Middletown, Connecticut, is mostly known for the approximately 30,000 U.S. Model 1842 percussion pistols his company manufactured c. 1846 to 1850 as you alluded to. I've never seen let alone heard of a rifle by the company. The location of the side plate seems very strange.

That is why I asked... I did a lot of online research and found nothing.. But yet here it is.

Great find.  Deserves more research.  Does that stamp match the pistols?

Looks fairly close but there are some minor differences mainly from it marked unevenly on the rifle (lower part of the markings more pronounced).

Looks the same to me.. don't think any stamp is perfect.
Surely someone has seen one before..
The story I got was that this gun was built by Henry Aston for the neighbor and they handed in the it down till I got it.

It's  not a bad looking rifle except the overly small side plate mounted high.  I'm guessing the sideplate was meant for a pistol.
