Little patch knife

While forging a blade a few weeks back, I was left with a small scrap of 1084 steel. I started to toss it but figured I would beat it out while the forge was still hot and see what I could make. A little scrap of antler and some pewter and voila...

I love doing little patch knives like the one you have here. I always do my best to leave as little unused scrap as possible.

Thank you all. I am having a lot of fun making knives lately. I have two more to finish the bolsters and I will post pics. They are basically the same as this one except progressively larger. Hard to visualize but you’ll see next week. Thanks for the comments! Will

Thanks Ron. The heat treat was the trickiest part. Due to the small mass, it cools off very quickly! Have to be fast with the quench.
