A double repair horn
« on: November 26, 2017, 05:28:06 PM »
I was fascinated with this horn the first time I saw it in C. Michael Briggs' book on North Carolina powder horns and just had to do it.  The one repair is a piece of horn overlayed on the original horn and attached with staples (and some very modern adhesive) the other is pewter poured into what are probably insect holes.  I think it turned out pretty neat.

Great horn Cory Joe, well done. I really like the patches, especially the Pewter. Maybe a little Bluing on them to darken them up?

Probably put some mustard on it.  Darken it a bit.
