NOS barrels

Just a heads up; I haven't looked at parts on fleabay for a while but took a look this morning. I have never seen so many NOS barrels up for auction. One seller notes that he bought out a sporting good stores inventory and was selling things off a little bit at a time.

Search for black powder barrels.

I need another barrel like I need a hole in the head but it sure is tempting. The last time I gave in to the temptation on eBay I picked up a NOS Green Mountain 13/16", 42" .40 barrel for $75. It sure made a fine Tn rifle.

Mostly seeing barrrls for factory percussion guns. Am I missing anything?

I saw a number of new Green Mountain barrels, not what we would normally look for, straight 15/16" or 7/8" in .36, 50, and 54, 36" long barrels.

The barrels are not 150 years old.  Most likely they are between 10 and 30 years old.  They were produced and placed into inventory and are now being sold.  They are new modern production barrels that have never been sold or used for a project.  Much like my Ed Rayl barrel that I have had in storage for about 35 years and has now found a project to be attached to.  Its a new barrel that was produced maybe 40 years ago.

Oh, I see modern barrels that were never used, as oppose to barrels made during the percussion era, stored away and discovered. Not nos

One of the GM barrels is going out in a hour or so and not at a bargain basement price. I have seen these eBay barrels go for more than you can order one from Track or GM.
