Very Nice rifle Mike!!  There are so many neat features , it`s hard to say what I like best. The silver overlays I like a lot, as well as that toeplate . The molding going around the TG is cool as well. I just like the whole thing. It is refreshing to see these rifles , that people don`t build all the time. That piece of wood is no slouch , mind telling where you got it?  I know it`s new owner has been giddy with anticipation, he shared as much , when I talked with him at Wheeler. I hate to kick a hornet`s nest Mike , but what`s next? ::) :o.   Really a nice job!         Nate

Mike you did an outstanding job on this one. Truly a fine remake if a Rowan County NC rifle.  Maybe I'll get to see it in April at the Tn Ky Show. Tim

Beautiful rifle Mike, quite a change from the rusty old fusils we usually see from you! Shoulder must be recovering quite well, but don't rush it too fast and risk more damage.

The gun is on it's way to Paris. (Kentucky, not France ;)) The lock is a Roller made in '81. Got 18 hours in the box, I left it in the gun while I finished it.....otherwise it probably wouldn't have fit back in! I was supplied the stock by the owner, it came through Freddie Harrison at some time as it had his name on it. It was a nice hard piece to work with. The stain is aniline dye, 3 different shades starting with a base of canary yellow. All the silver on it is sterling except for that tombstone inlay on top of the comb which is coin silver.  Those weird shaped lock panels were a head scratcher, I finally decided to form them with a gouge. I tried to keep real traditional Rowan NC with it, the art work in that area is a little weird if you have never seen it before.
Next up is a lefty Eddie Marshal rifle, big brute in .62 cal.

Great looking rifle!  Wayne, I can see now why you’ve been waiting by the mailbox...that’s sure a dandy!  Hope to get a first-hand look at it at Lake Cumberland.

That gun will be at both the Lake Cumberland and Knoxville shows for y’all to play with.
Great!  I will make sure to give it the once over, or maybe even twice.

A fantastic job based on a rarely seen school from Piedmont, NC. The box came out super, and you have to be mighty happy with your finish work. I'd love to shoot that one, but I think the owner might object. ;-)  Mighty fine work good sir. Best wishes and God bless, Marc

Come on down! I have plenty of everything to shoot that little gem.
USPS says that it will be at my local post office in the morning, recon I’ll be there too (around 8:00).

Cool rifle!  I like those panels, and the boarder around the trigger guard as well!  Very nice piece, thanks for posting.

The gun arrived today. It looks better than any photograph of it. You can see it in person next weekend at Lake Cumberland and later at Knoxville.

Ya can't beat a man at his trade. Great work.
I have to ask, is this gun going to have set triggers??
Otherwise the Gd looks too far back for a regular trigger???

You must be missing the pictures of the finished gun, it has set triggers.

I'm really late to the party on this one - but a great job!  Wish it was mine.
