Say, any of you boys smithies? Or, if not smithies per se, were you otherwise trained in the metallurgic arts before straitened circumstances forced you into a life of aimless wanderin'?

This one is stocked in ash. Both of these I think had Colerain 46" barrels, probably 11 or 10 bores. As you can see I sort of always build them the same way.

Homely but elegant.A 10 gage would be my first choice with either my or Jim Chambers

Mine are a far cry from the ones already posted which is why I only make lamps now.
I built this one a few years ago and it now resides in N. Carolina

I’ve always liked these. They just say “Pilgrims” to me. Going to bite that bullet one of these years. Usually large bore. Might be hard to sell on spec which is all I’ve ever done.

They make the best Turkey guns ever. The stock architecture absorbs all the recoil. Put lots of jug in and out to the turkey woods you go!

Grand guns all, and that Cherry Mike, I like the worn /used finish. Looks handled forever. Great work!

Bob R,

Wouldn't have thought a Late Ketland would sit right on one of these. Bit late doncha' think?

Best,
R.

This is kind of a club butt.  It started out as an early fowler style I have made before and then I put more belly on it.

where to upload high resolution photos

This is another one that I did.  Very shortened style that some call a canoe gun.  (Mike Brooks, lookaway)  The decoration was done by a friend of mine.

Yes I did. Top one is an import lock found on line, bottom one is a lock by Leonard Day. The gun is a copy of a gun built for "The Sultan of Bantam" (17th century) Photos of the original attached.
